ThetaRay, a leading provider of artificial intelligence-based big data analytics, has signed an agreement under which Banco Santander will use ThetaRay’s anti-money laundering (AML) solution for correspondent banking operations. The system will analyze SWIFT traffic, risk indicators, and Know Your Customer (KYC) data to identify anomalies that indicate money laundering schemes in the relevant banking operations. The deployment of the solution began in the fourth quarter of 2019 and will be implemented globally over the next months. As part of the partnership, Santander will use the ThetaRay Investigation Center version, uniquely designed for correspondent banking. The platform will give Santander full access to its data lines, allowing them to conduct a full investigation,
